The story goes that when Alexander the Great met the Greek philosopher, all Diogenes wanted of the Macedonian leader was that he stop blocking his sunlight.

Alexander the Great did not have a low opinion of himself, but these quotes attributed to Alexander show another side as well. Here is one:
